Sherri Hennessy - I started seriously working as a bookbinder about ten years ago and really enjoyed doing this for about four years. I made some very interesting books and bindings and also did a lot of card making. During this time, I also did a lot of camping, and I discovered that my happiest times were being in the woods and/or being surrounded by my paper projects. For me, there is a deep connection with the two.... But due to personal reasons, I had to put my work away for several years. Then, about a year ago, I was feeling a deep emptiness in my soul, and the need to be creative was beckoning me. I knew I had to fill the void, so I brought out all my books, paper and supplies. I took a collage class, met some women with the same love of collage and bookmaking and got together with six of my incredible artistic friends. We decided to form an art group that meets once a month to work on our own personal crafts, and with that, the creative juices began to flow. I still have days when I can't work on my books or paper art, and I hate those days! To me, they are lost days!

A tribute to Mom, this book unfolds (see pictures below) to display memorabilia from a mother's youth throughout her life. Sherri uses many types of media to make her books. One might find hand-made clay medallions or paper, antique buttons, lace, collectible billboards or newspaper articles. This wonderful mixture makes a remarkable composition, as seen in this picture.

| In Memory of Jumbo is a marvelous example of Sherri's Memory Books for pets. The book is made up of special pictures and other treasures from Jumbo's life with his people companions who had this book custom-made by Sherri to commemmorate the life of their beloved darling. See below how the book opens up into panels that can be arranged in a stand-up position. |

| When Sherri's books are opened, the panels can be flipped like pages in a book or arranged in a upright position for display. These panels contain pictures of Jumbo as a baby (he was an orphan and was hand-fed by bottle) and playing with other cats in his household. Each panel is beautifully crafted to make this memorial a wondeful piece of art. |

When the Jumbo book is viewed from the other side, there are more pictures that depict special moments in his life. There is also a pocket that holds poems and notes sent in sympathy after this beloved pet's death.
This wonderful book is one that will be treasured for many years to come.

Bird cover book---This book is constructed of heavy corrugated paper pages and covered with K&G Company specialty papers. The spine is held together with two metallic book rings and the pages are covered with a collage of birds, and nature ephemera. The size of book is approximately 6" by 11"

Eyeglass cases - When Sherri had problems keeping up with her eyeglasses, she made a charming case that she wears around her neck. The owner of a little shop spotted the case and asked her to make them for her to sell. A couple of these handy creations are below.

Checkbook cover - Another handy creation of Sherri's is the checkbook covers. These are so much nicer than the plastic or even leather ones that usually come with checks. Check this out!
